Mbappe '99.99% will leave PSG for Real Madrid' claims La Liga president
Kylian Mbappe looks more and more likely to join Real Madrid this summer after La Liga president Javier Tebas claimed there was a ’99.9%’ chance the Paris Saint-Germain star would play for Carlo Ancelotti’s side next season.
Mbappe is understood to have informed PSG in February of his intentions to leave the French giants upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the season, although no formal announcement has been made about his future.
The 25-year-old is also thought to have held extensive talks with Real about a transfer to the club, having turned down the opportunity to make the move in 2022.

While an agreement is not believed to have been struck yet, no other sides have made an approach for Mbappe and the expectation among many in the footballing world is that Real will eventually seal a deal for the French captain.
That belief extends to Tebas, who spoke at a sporting convention this week and revealed his thoughts on Mbappe’s future, while also commenting on the ‘complicated’ chances of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland eventually moving to La Liga.
“I would like to see the best in our competitions,” Tebas said. “I give Mbappé a 99.99% chance that he will play next season for Real Madrid. Haaland is more complicated. "He has been at City for a short time to consider leaving."
Real pursue Mbappe with Haaland staying at City
Real had long considered an approach for Haaland after initially being rejected by Mbappe two years ago, with the La Liga side initially furious at the forward’s dramatic late u-turn to extend at PSG.
However, it quickly became apparent that Haaland had no real desire to leave City, having joined them from Dortmund that same summer, despite the Norwegian’s father admitting that the ambition was for his son to move to another league inside three years.

Haaland is thought to have a release clause in his contract allowing him to leave this summer for €200 million, although City are looking to offer the 23-year-old a new deal to remove the condition, with the player also not looking for an exit.
Some reports have claimed that Real preferred Haaland due to his natural ability as a striker, while Mbappe prefers to play on the left wing – a role currently occupied by Vinicius Junior.
In spite of the positional clash, Mbappe’s move to Real is expected to be a formality while Haaland will remain at City for the indefinite future.
