The i paper have suggested that the Old Lady are very keen on the youngster, while Atletico Madrid have been monitoring Greenwood’s progress on loan at Getafe since he arrived in Spain.

It’s thought that the most likely outcome is that Greenwood departs Old Trafford in the summer, but that Ineos will demand a market-value price for him.

Man Utd will ask for offers around the £40 million and it's a 'real possibility' that the club may even look to extend his contract by another year, taking it beyond its current end in 2025.

The charges of attempted rape, controlling behaviour and assault against Greenwood were dropped in February last year. Man Utd then allowed him to leave on loan, following their six-month internal investigation. Greenwood has denied the allegations.

Now Juventus are now the frontrunners to sign the 22-year-old, alongside Atletico.

The youngster has netted 10 goals for Getafe this term. Jose Bordalas said of his displays so far this season: “He is calm, he is happy, he is treated very well. The boy has had exemplary behaviour to this day and his team-mates help him.

“I’m sure the chants affect him. You know my opinion, I’m against any insult, no matter who the player is.”
