The winger is now back at St James’ Park and looking ahead to next season. But Sky Germany say that Dortmund are very keen on the youngster, while it’s been previously reported that Newcastle may look to offload him to bring in funds for their transfer window.

Last year, Newcastle, announced that they had reached an agreement to sign Minteh. The youngster was brought to St James' Park by the club’s former director of football Dan Ashworth for just £6.5 million, before he was shipped on loan to Feyenoord ahead of the last campaign.

Dortmund head coach Nuri Sahin knows him well, it is believed, and remains impressed with the ten goals and six assists he notched in Eredivisie last season.

Reports suggest that Dortmund are considering him as an option if Jadon Sancho is unavailable for another loan or if Donyell Malen or Karim Adeyemi depart, even though Sebastian Kehl previously stated that Adeyemi is not for sale this summer.

Jadon Sancho’s future remains up in the air as Manchester United decided to keep Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman had a falling out with the winger, who refused to apologise, and he was shunned from the side.

It’s not clear where Sancho will end up next season now, especially as it’s thought that Dortmund cannot afford a permanent move and his high wages.

Sancho is due back at Carrington after spending six months on loan with Dortmund, where he helped them gain entry to the Champions League final.

It's not clear yet whether Sancho will look to make amends with Ten Hag ahead of the new season.
