CONFIRMED: Ipswich Town remain in talks with Blackburn for Szmodics but gap in valuation
Ipswich Town remain in talks to secure Sammie Szmodics from Blackburn Rovers but there remains a gap in valuation between the two clubs for the attacker, FootballTransfers can confirm.
The newly promoted side have seen their bids consistently rejected but the Tractor Boys are still in negotiations with Blackburn for last season's Championship top scorer.
We are told that dialogue remains and there is just a small gap in valuation - but a gap nonetheless.
The 28-year-old Szmodics has an ambition to play in the Premier League after a prolific 2023-24 season, during which he scored 33 goals, including 27 in the league.

We understand that talks are not advanced but they are ongoing while personal terms are not expected to be a problem.
Szmodics draws interest from Turkey
In November, Szmodics signed a new contract with Rovers until 2026.
Super Lig club Galatasaray have also shown interest in Szmodics but no offer has been forthcoming from them so far.
The attacker has previously played for Peterborough United and Bristol City. He made his international debut for Ireland against Belgium in March.
Ipswich Town are gearing up for their first Premier League season since 2001-02, where they gained entry to the Uefa Cup.
They signed striker Liam Delap from Manchester City for £20 million. Additionally, Ipswich has added Omari Hutchinson, Ben Johnson, and Jacob Greaves to their roster
