Man Utd look to sort two medicals 'this week'

Manchester United are hoping to seal the signings of Joshua Zirkzee and Matthijs de Ligt this week, according to reports.
Outlet HITC states that striker Zirkzee has agreed to join the Red Devils and so has Bayern Munich player De Ligt.
Man Utd are growing in confidence that the pair will be squad members ahead of the new campaign as the club begins its first full season under Ineos.

Zirkzee is currently at Euro 2024 with the Netherlands. The Bologna forward came off the bench during his side’s quarter-final win over Turkey, a 2-1 win, and is now set to face off against England in the semifinals.
It was previously thought that AC Milan had been leading the race for his signature after the Serie A club had agreed to pay Bologna the player’s release clause of around €40million.
The side pushed for the player to make a quick decision but he stalled, with the Red Devils coming in instead to steal the march.
It’s been widely reported that phone conversations have occurred between Zirkzee and Man Utd head coach Erik ten Hag over a possible move.

Man Utd spoke to Bologna and the Italian side have asked for the player’s release clause to be met in full. This is because his former club Bayern are owed 50% of any sale, with a sell-on clause attached to his move.
Man Utd close to De Ligt deal
The German club is also in discussions with Man Utd regarding the potential transfer of De Ligt, another Dutch player. The defender has agreed to join United this summer after experiencing limited game time with Bayern Munich last season.

Like Zirkzee, De Ligt's move to Old Trafford will be permanent, with Bayern expected to accept a deal similar to Zirkzee.
Potential delays might arise due to the players' medical, which depend on the duration of the Netherlands' Euro 2024 commitments.
Munich is prepared to sell De Ligt for an upfront fee of around €50m, with additional bonuses on top.
