OFFICIAL: Man City complete €40m signing of Brazilian wonderkid Savio
Manchester City have confirmed their first signing of the summer after Savio completed his transfer from sister club Troyes.
The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at another City Football Group side in Girona, where he provided 19 goal contributions in a historic season for the La Liga side.
Savio’s performances for Girona led to City holding talks to bring the forward to the Premier League and he has now penned a contract until 2029 with Pep Guardiola’s side.

City will pay an initial fee of £21 million (€25m) for Savio, however the amount could rise to up to £33.6m (€40m), with the player taking the number 26 shirt.
City director of football Txiki Begiristain said: “Savinho is a very exciting player and I think the City fans are really going to enjoy watching him.
“What he achieved last season at Girona was remarkable and he is already a full Brazil international. He has a big role to play for Manchester City this season and beyond.
“We are totally confident in his ability. He is still young and has the potential to become even better, and everyone knows that Pep is the best at helping players develop even further.
“But he has already shown his huge quality and technical ability and is an exciting addition to our attacking area.”
Savinho's rise to the top
Also known as ‘Savinho’, the winger joined Troyes from Atletico Mineiro in 2022 for an initial fee of €6.5m, however he never featured for the Ligue 2 side, spending his first year in Europe on loan at PSV.
Savio hardly featured for PSV, making just six appearances for the Dutch side’s first team, however he did play nine times for reserve side, scoring twice.

It was last year at Girona where Savio had his breakout, leading Girona to a third-place finish in La Liga and also receiving his first caps for Brazil’s senior side, having been called up for the 2024 Copa America this summer.
Savio has seven caps for Brazil and scored his one and only goal for his country in the group stage of the Copa America against Paraguay.
