Antony to leave Man Utd on Deadline Day? Romano reveals the state of play
Fabrizio Romano has made Antony's stance clear after the winger was linked with a move to Real Betis.
The Daily Mail had reported that the winger and team-mate Christian Eriksen had emerged as late loan targets for the Spanish side Betis.
Transfer reporter Simon Jones detailed in his column: "Manchester United pair Antony and Christian Eriksen have emerged as loan targets for Real Betis.

"United have made it clear they would listen to offers for fringe players but were ideally looking at permanent sales for Eriksen and defender Victor Lindelof. Betis are exploring a number of options and are considering a bold approach for Brazilian winger Antony and midfielder Eriksen to see if United would countenance such a deal."
However, Romano quickly said the player does not wish to leave Man Utd.
He said on X formerly known as Twitter: "Antony to Real Betis on loan is NOT happening, despite reports. He wants to stay at Manchester United."
Antony is a 16-cap Brazil international, however, has struggled to adapt to the demands of the Premier League after an impressive time with Ajax where he was even linked with a move to Liverpool.
The €95 million signing has been nothing short of an unmitigated disaster for Man Utd so far. After a middling first season at Old Trafford, Antony only managed one goal and one assist in the Premier League last term.
In pre-season, Amad Diallo was favoured on the right wing in the absence of Alejandro Garnacho.
Antony speaks out
Antony's future has been the subject of plenty of speculation after it was revealed earlier this summer that Man Utd are open to cashing in on him at the right price. However, the Brazilian has now announced that he is determined to fight for his place.
Speaking to The Telegraph in an emotional interview, Antony insisted that the allegations took their toll on his performances and he vows to do better next season.
"I’m someone who demands a lot of myself and I was obviously not satisfied with my season but a lot happened over the year in my personal life. Like it or not, everything I went through had an effect on the pitch."
