'No more tippy tappy football' - England fans react to Tuchel appointment
The Football Association has announced the appointment of Thomas Tuchel as England manager, but the reaction has been mixed.
The German will formally take up his post in January, with Lee Carsley managing the team on an interim basis until that time.
The former Bayern Munich head coach marks the third foreign boss to lead the Three Lions. The reaction to the news has been mostly positive, but there are still some doubters.

Not least the Daily Mail who took a bizarre angle on the news this morning, blasting it as a 'Dark Day of England' and referring to Tuchel's German nationality.
Tuchel is arguably the most esteemed coach to take the job, being a Ligue 1, Bundesliga, and Champions League winner.
What has been said?
My choice was Klopp. Tuchel was the next best available. I knew the racists would have trouble accepting it. It’s great news. No more tippy tappy football. TAA in his correct position. Crosses for H. What’s not to like? We don’t trust our big clubs to English coaches. 🤷♂️.

Do not care about the foreign/German angle with Tuchel at all. FA have finally made a good decision with the aim of winning a major trophy

I think there’s a lazy narrative surrounding Tuchel that he falls out with everyone higher up the food chain. That won’t be a problem with England & if you look at the people he’s fallen out with at Chelsea, Bayern, PSG — you’ll notice everyone else has also fallen out with them https://t.co/6u68lE93aW

“I don’t mind if he is German as they were brilliant to us at the Euros, they wanted us to win after they went out,” says one England fan of Thomas Tuchel. “I don’t mind whatever country they come from as long as he’s not Scottish or Argentinian.” If that gives a glimpse into the…
