FIFA rules mean they Diouf would not be able to leave for another association as part of an international until he turns 18 in 2026.
Players like Dayot Upamecano, Ibrahima Konate, Josko Gvardiol, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Mane have all emerged from the Red Bull development system and Klopp wants Diouf to follow suit.
Diouf to Metz?
At the Under-17 level for Senegal, Diouf has made an impressive impact, scoring seven goals in 10 appearances. Recently, he also made history by becoming the youngest player to represent the Indomitable Lions at the senior level.
Mady Toure, founder and president of the renowned Senegalese academy Generation Foot, is confident that Diouf will continue to thrive and grow his talent, but it will be with French outfit Metz.
“At 18, Amara will go to FC Metz,” he said. “It is our partner club, which has helped launch the careers of many Senegalese players.”
