Ruben Amorim is no longer completely safe from being sacked as Man Utd manager.

His odds of being the next Premier League manager to be axed have plummeted after United suffered their fourth successive defeat on Monday.

United lost 2-0 at home to Newcastle at Old Trafford, a result that means that Amorim has now lost five of his eight Premier League matches in charge at the club.

He only was appointed as United’s new manager less than two months ago following the sacking of Erik ten Hag.

However, Amorim has not improved results or performance at all. In fact, the results so far have been far worse than those of even Ten Hag.

He has had the joint-worst start of any Man Utd manager in the league in the club’s history.

With United in 14th place and just seven points ahead of the relegation zone, Amorim’s odds of being sacked have plummeted.

His odds have fallen as low as 20/1 with some bookmakers to be the next Premier League manager to be sacked.

Which Premier League manager will be sacked next?

That makes him the fourth favourite to be the next Premier League boss to be axed. Only Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou (the favourite to be sacked next), West Ham’s Julen Lopetegui and Everton’s Sean Dyche have shorter odds.

What is certain is Amorim needs to make improvements quickly.

It won’t get any easier for Amorim as United’ next match on Sunday sees them travel to league leaders Liverpool at Anfield.

They then go to London to play Arsenal in the FA Cup before a couple of easier home fixtures in the league versus Southampton and Brighton, two matches which must be considered must-win.
