Arsenal Transfer News Today: RECORD deal to be announced, Merino TWIST, Neto THREAT, Williams SHOCK
The latest Arsenal football transfer news updates, with the hottest updates on all the potential new signings and sales at the Emirates Stadium, including Mikel Merino, Emile Smith Rowe and Viktor Gyokeres.
Smith Rowe deal to be announced
Arsenal will announce the sale of Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham on Wednesday, according to a report in the Evening Standard.
Not only will be become the record signing of the Cottagers, he could also become Arsenal’s most expensive sale in history. It is believed that he will join Fulham for an initial €32 million (£27m) over four years, with potentially another €8m to follow in bonuses.
If all these bonus payments are met, the deal will exceed the €40m Arsenal received for Marc Overmars in 2000, which remains a club record after nearly quarter of a century.

Merino offered a new Real Sociedad deal
In a last-ditch attempt to keep Mikel Merino from moving to Arsenal, Real Sociedad are going to offer the player a new contract.
Merino has already agreed terms with Arsenal, as FootballTransfers previously revealed, but an agreement with La Real over a transfer fee has not been reached.
“We are not in any conversation with any club to get any player to leave,” Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay is quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.
“We knew that the summer was going to be long and that is how it is going to be, we are going to manage it during August. We will try to make the team come out stronger.
“I think that Merino has been honest with Real Sociedad during the last year, if he has not renewed it is because he did not want to tell the fans: ‘I’m staying’ - and then leave.
“I would like him not to leave. If he tells us that he likes any of the offers he has on the table, we will see. We are not negotiating with any club now.
“We are aware that Merino has offers, and we know them. The conversation with him and those around him has been very sincere and hopefully his decision is to stay, he already knows that we want him to stay.
“He has had a renewal offer for some time. And if not, we will try to negotiate the best way out for Real.”
Arsenal pushing for Gyokeres
FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal are willing to pay roughly €60 million (£52m) for Viktor Gyokeres.
We are told that the Sporting CP sharpshooter still tops the Gunners' shortlist of striker options, though a sizeable gap in valuation remains.
Sporting are no longer holding out for the Swede's €100m release clause to be paid in full, but they still want at least around €70m (£60m).
However, there has so far been no concrete movement towards opening formal talks due to Arsenal's focus on Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino.
Williams picks...Bilbao
Nico Williams has decided to snub interest from Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea to remain at Athletic Club, according to The Athletic.
The 22-year-old won't be moving this summer and, according to Fabrizio Romano, could even sign a new deal.
Spurs step up Neto chase
FootballTransfers understands that Tottenham are stepping up their pursuit of Pedro Neto.
We are told that the Wolves winger remains on Arsenal's shortlist of targets, but Spurs are intensifying their efforts to sign him.
Arsenal want Leroy Sane
Arsenal are monitoring Leroy Sane’s situation at Bayern Munich, according to Sky Germany.
The former Manchester City winger has one year left on his current deal at the Allianz Arena and although he is happy at the club, a summer exit is possible.
Arsenal’s interest in Sane was first reported by FootballTransfers.
