Neymar has reportedly agreed to re-join Santos on loan as his spell at Al-Hilal draws to a close.

The Brazil legend has six months remaining on his current Al-Hilal contract, but he hasn’t been registered for the second half of the Saudi Pro League season and he is expected to secure a January transfer away from the club.

A reunion with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Inter Miami has been touted as a serious option for Neymar, while Chicago Fire are also in talks over a surprise move for the 32-year-old.

However, Brazilian outlet Diario do Peixe have revealed that Neymar has reached an agreement to re-join Santos before the January transfer window closes.

Santos have reportedly agreed to sign Neymar on an initial six-month loan deal, and the move is set to be formally announced in the next few days.

The Brazilian giants are understood to have used artificial intelligence to prepare a video voiced by the late Pele to convince Neymar to return to the club nearly 12 years after he left for Barcelona.

Neymar has only made seven appearances for Al-Hilal since his €90 million move from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, largely due to injury, and his time in Saudi Arabia is set to end this month.

What has Neymar said?

Although reports state that Neymar has reached an agreement with Santos, the Brazil legend has previously indicated that he would like to join MLS side Inter Miami instead.

“Obviously, playing again with [Lionel] Messi and [Luis] Suarez would be incredible,” Neymar admitted to CNN Sport at the recent Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai.

“They are my friends. We still speak to each other. It would be interesting to revive this trio. I’m happy at Al Hilal, I’m happy in Saudi Arabia, but who knows. Football is full of surprises.”
