Haaland needed just eight minutes to return to form for Dortmund
It took Erling Haaland just eight minutes to come on and confirm all three points for Borussia Dortmund against Wolfsburg on Saturday.
Although Marco Rose’s side were already leading, following goals from Emre Can and Donyell Malen overcame an early Wolfsburg goal from Wout Weghorst, the hosts were battering on the door and looked extremely close to bagging a late equaliser.
As such, the Dortmund head coach called for Haaland and the towering Norwegian striker made an instant impact.
With Wolfsburg dominating possession and chances, Dortmund made the most of a rare moment of possession in the opposing half when Julian Brandt picked the ball up on the left wing.
In typical fashion, the Germany international opted to cut inside and float the ball into the box, where a grateful and entirely out-stretched Haaland was waiting to tap the ball into the back of the net.
A third goal and confirmation of all three points for Dortmund in a truly challenging test for the Bundesliga side.

Haaland returns at the right time
Dortmund fans will be purring after Haalad’s late introduction and impressive performance, as the black and yellows prepare for a season-defining clash with Bayern in the Bundesliga next weekend.
The Westfalen side have won four of their six league games without Haaland this season but few would doubt that Dortmund’s chances of beating Bayern and causing a real stir in the Bundesliga are infinitely more likely with Haaland playing in the game.
After getting knocked out of the Champions League in midweek, Dortmund’s remaining hope of winning major silverware will rely on them keeping within arms length of their Bavarian rivals in the league. And Haaland will know that more than most.
So far this season the Norway international has bagged 14 goals in 11 games in all competitions and he’ll be determined to put Bayern to the test, as both sides now sit just one point apart in the Bundesliga table.
