Is Man Utd transfer target Kingsley Coman edging towards a Bayern exit?
Manchester United could be offered an opportunity to rekindle their interest in Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman this summer.
The French winger was of particular interest to the Premier League giants last season, but Bayern reportedly turned down any advances following the player’s crucial role in their treble-winning season.
However, according to a report by German magazine Kicker, Coman has apparently turned down an initial offer to extend his contract in Munich in light of interest from Man Utd.
As such, the Old Trafford side may be back in for the outstanding winger this summer with a clear attempt to improve what they currently have on offer on either flank.

Could Man Utd sign Kingsley Coman this summer?
It’s always hard to tell how much of the reported interest from clubs like Man Utd in Bundesliga targets is genuine and how much of it is just paper talk. But from the incessant reports linking the Old Trafford club with a move for Borussia Dortmund talent Jadon Sancho it certainly seems as though the club are desperate to sign a winger this summer.
On the face of it, Coman really should be off limits for just about any club this summer. Not only is the 24-year-old forward one of Hansi Flick’s most important players but he also has a contract that is currently set to run until 2023. Bayern really should feel no need to sell the player this summer.
However, the dispute over this contract extension is interesting. The reports in Germany suggest Man Utd’s promise of vast riches have turned the player’s head and have perhaps even emboldened him and his representatives to ask for even more money from the Munich side.
As such, this may all just be a ploy for Coman to demand a higher wage. But if it’s not, and Coman has no intention of extending his contract, then Bayern may then feel an obligation to quickly cut ties and move on with other prospects. If that were to happen, then perhaps Man Utd could get their target this summer for the right price.
