Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has slammed reports that the club will be forced to sell Erling Haaland next summer.

Haaland is arguably the hottest young property in Europe after an incredible 18 months at Dortmund.

Virtually every top club in Europe is interested in signing the 21-year-old, including Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Dortmund resisted all interest in Haaland this past summer but it is widely expected that the attacker will move on at the end of the campaign when a release clause will be activated in his contract.

It has also been claimed that, due to being listed on the stick exchange, Dortmund need to sell Haaland in order to pay out to their investors.

These reports have been blasted by Watzke, though.

What did Watzke say about Haaland?

"It has not yet been decided whether he will really leave next summer," Watzke told Sport 1.

HOW MUCH IS ERLING HAALAND WORTH?

"We'll just have a look. I heard someone say: 'They have to sell Haaland because they are listed on the stock exchange.' This is all bullsh*t. The decision whether someone is sold at our club is made by the management and only by the management."

"The ball lies in Erling's court. I get on well with Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola because we can assess each other well.

“I know what makes him tick. It is not right to believe that Raiola is all about the money. He also has in mind what is best for Erling."

Watzke also explained why Jadon Sancho left the club this past summer in order to join Manchester United in a big-money deal.

"One of the reasons for his transfer was a lack of acceptance in the English national team," Watzke said. "I love Jadon. You get tears in your eyes when you watch him play."
