There’s no doubt that Jude Bellingham has wasted no time at all in his development at Borussia Dortmund.

After joining the Bundesliga side in 2020 for €23 million, the young midfielder has quickly established himself as one of the club’s most consistent performers.

So much so that at just 18 years of age, Bellingham is already one of Dortmund’s most important players. And as such, a new report from Germany has suggested that he’ll not be leaving this summer at any cost.

Why won’t Bellingham leave in 2022?

According to German newspaper Bild, Bellingham has given Dortmund his word that he won’t consider leaving the club until 2023 at the earliest.

Although that may disappoint fans of Chelsea or Manchester United, who have been heavily linked with the player, it does make a lot of sense.

Bellingham has now established himself as a Dortmund player, but he’s still far from the finished article at the Westfalenstadion and could certainly use more time to develop into a mature midfielder.

As such, at least another season in the German top flight should prove invaluable to Bellingham’s development and his chances of success in the Premier League at a later date.

How much will he be worth in 2023?

As of March 2022, Bellingham was worth no less than €79 million and could currently fetch a price of €99m in the transfer market.

But when we look at how much his value has increased over the course of the last few years, it does suggest that the player could be worth much more next summer.

For example, last summer Bellingham’s value stood at €52m, which means over the course of this season alone it has jumped up by €27m.

If Bellingham were to have another successful campaign with Dortmund next season, there’s no reason to discount the chance of his value continuing to rise, which could see the player become worth more than €100m before either Man Utd or Chelsea get the chance to bid for his talent in 2023.
