Angelino, 25, joined Leipzig from Manchester City in 2021, having spent the season prior on loan at the Bundesliga club.

The Spanish left-back originally joined Man City back in 2013, but was sold to PSV Eindhoven in 2018. One year later he was re-signed by Pep Guardiola's side.

He made 29 Bundesliga appearances for Leipzig last season, scoring two goals and assisting five. In all competition, he racked up 45 games, three goals and 13 assists as he helped Leipzig qualify for the Champions League.

However, David Raum's arrival from Hoffenheim ensured his starting berth was taken by the new signing, who cost Leipzig around €28 million. Angelino has now departed in the opposite direction on loan.

Raum assisted 13 league goals last season on top of his three goals, and has recently become Germany's starting left-back.

In total, Angelino has played 98 times for Leipzig, scoring 12 goals and assisting 28. He has two caps for Spain's U21 side, but is yet to make his senior national team debut.

Hoffenheim's summer business

The loan acquisition of Angelino is Hoffenheim's sixth summer signing. The German club have already added Stanley Nsoki from Club Brugge, Ozan Kabak from Schalke, Finn Ole Becker from St Pauli, Grischa Promel from Union Berlin and Eduardo Quaresma on loan from Sporting CP.

Along with Raum's exit, Hoffenheim have lost the likes of Florian Grillitsch and Havard Nordtveit.
