Ten Hag close to sack as Man Utd contact Champions League winner to step in
Manchester United have already put the wheels in motion to sack manager Erik ten Hag following Sunday’s near miss in the FA Cup against Coventry City.
In a remarkable game, Man Utd stormed into a three-goal lead only to have it obliterated by the Championship side, who had already completed a remarkable comeback in the semi-finals.
The Red Devils survived extra-time as the tightest of VAR checks went in their favour as Coventry thought they had snatched an incredible winner, then won through on penalties to face Manchester City in the final.

Ten Hag’s game management was again called into question, although in his defence on this occasion, he only had one fit centre-back. Casemiro was forced to deputise alongside Harry Maguire.
Nevertheless, this was simply the latest in a long line of shambles that Ten Hag has led the club through this season and, according to a report from Kicker journalist Georg Holzner, United are making plans to replace the Dutchman.

Man Utd closing in on Tuchel?
Thomas Tuchel, who will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, despite leading the Bavarians to the Champions League semi-finals, has already spoken to Sir Jim Ratcliffe over the possibility of taking command at Old Trafford in the summer.
“Man Utd owner Jim Ratcliffe, who values Tuchel highly, has asked the current Bayern coach about a commitment for the coming season in the event that the club part ways with Erik ten Hag at the end of the season,” Holzner claims on X.
“Tuchel is currently only focusing on FC Bayern.”

Tuchel himself has flirted with the sack this season with Bayern, having fallen a dramatic second best to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. FCB’s Champions League run has saved him.
The former Borussia Dortmund coach did, meanwhile, have some degree of success at Chelsea, including a Champions League win, before being sacked by the Stamford Bridge club in the early days of the Todd Boehly regime.
He took charge of the Blues for exactly 100 games, winning 63 of these and losing only 18. Ten Hag has already lost 17 times this season alone at Man Utd.
