OFFICIAL: PSG star Xavi Simons re-joins RB Leipzig on loan
RB Leipzig have officially re-signed Paris Saint-Germain attacker Xavi Simons on loan for the 2024-25 campaign.
The Netherlands international spent last season on loan with the Bundesliga outfit and he has re-joined the club despite significant interest from multiple top European clubs.
Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich were all interested in signing Simons this summer, but he has opted to return to Leipzig on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old was eager to leave PSG yet again this summer, however the Ligue 1 giants were only prepared to sanction a temporary exit.
As a result, he will return to the Parc des Princes in 2025 once his second loan spell at Leipzig ends.
Simons scored eight goals and provided 11 assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances last campaign, while he also notched four goal contributions in eight Champions League games.

The Dutchman still has three years on his current PSG contract, and the Parisians evidently view him as a player capable of becoming a first-team star in the future.
However, Simons doesn’t seem convinced by his potential for regular minutes this season, hence why he has opted to re-join Leipzig on loan.
So far this summer, Leipzig have signed talented KRC Genk goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt and young Schalke midfielder Assan Ouedraogo for €10 million each.
Angelino is the most notable departure, with the Spaniard joining AS Roma on a permanent deal for €5.2m after spending the second half of last season on loan with the Serie A giants.

Simons will wear the number 10 shirt at Leipzig this season.
The club posted on their official website: “Xavi will complete his medical on Monday at Cottaweg and then train individually for the first time since returning.
“The attacker will be available for questions at a press conference on Tuesday and will then train with the team for the first time.”
