Arsenal ready '€40m offer' for Frankfurt sensation
Arsenal are the latest club to be linked with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt youngster Hugo Larsson.
Dino Toppmoller is presiding over a decent start to the season for the German side. They sit third in the Bundesliga table at the time of writing, having scored the second-highest number of goals.
Now CaughtOffside have reported that one of their players is being looked at by the Gunners, who are looking to enrich their midfield. The outlet states that Larsson is under consideration for the upcoming January transfer window.

"Sources with a close understanding of his situation have informed CaughtOffside that Arsenal are considering testing the waters with a €40million bid for the player in January. Liverpool and Tottenham are also very interested in Larsson and CaughtOffside understands they could also try initiating talks over the Sweden international this winter."
The publication also states that Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also monitoring Larsson, though there is no mention that those clubs will look to make a bid.
However, even if Arsenal did move for a Swedish player, their offer of €40m would likely be rejected by Frankfurt who value him closer to €70-80m. FootballTransfers' Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) algorithm ranks Larsson closer to €21m, meaning that if any club meets their valuation of Larsson, they would be paying close to quadruple what he is worth.

Larsson's transfer history
Larsson joined Frankfurt in 2023, sealing a then-Allsvenskan record transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt from Malmö FF. The Eagles shelled out €9m with the fee potentially rising further if certain criteria are met. He did an admirable job in his first season of Bundesliga football for a hit-and-miss side, but this season he has started to become a true juggernaut in midfield.
He even had a trial with Chelsea at one point but decided to reject the Blues in favour of continuing his development in a more familiar environment at Malmo. "For me, it was better to continue my development at home, at Malmo. I want to break through at Malmo first before I go abroad," he said after snubbing the Blues.
