The Gunners will look to strengthen in attack this summer after neglecting to sign a forward in recent years, leading to a current injury crisis up front for Mikel Arteta.

Having been reluctant to splash the cash on attackers, Arsenal are likely to target a wide forward and a striker this summer and TBR Football has claimed that Jamie Gittens is a player whom Arsenal could land on as a target.

Gittens has enjoyed a breakout season for Dortmund, with the 20-year-old grabbing seven goals and three assists in 23 Bundesliga appearances, leading to strong interest in the winger.

The likes of Chelsea, Tottenham and Aston Villahave also been linked with Gittens, with a return to England said to ‘appeal’ to Gittens, having joined Dortmund in 2020 from Manchester City’s academy.

Arsenal have been among the sides who have closely watched Gittens in recent weeks and, with Dortmund likely to miss out on Champions League football next season, they could be willing to part ways with their young star for around €85 million.

Gittens ready to push for World Cup spot with return to England

Gittens has reportedly been told by Dortmund that he will be allowed to leave this summer despite having three years remaining on his contract, with the German side needing to raise funds if they do not qualify for the Champions League.

The German giants currently sit tenth in the Bundesliga, seven points outside the top four, having won just three of their last 12 league matches.

In spite of their poor season, Gittens has been a rare bright spark but the Englishman is hoping to continue raising his profile in order to compete for a place in Thomas Tuchels’s England squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Arsenal will undoubtedly be in the race for Gittens but the Gunners are also considering players such as Nico Williams and Ademola Lookman in order to add some much-needed firepower to their front line.
