Jamal Musiala has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich to leave a string of top clubs disappointed.
Musiala has penned a new contract with Bayern that sees him committed to the club until 2030 – an extension that stretches his deal with the Allianz Arena side an additional four years.

There had been speculation that he might leave FCB in the summer, at which point the former Chelsea academy star only had 12 months of his contract remaining.
Manchester United, Real Madrid and Manchester City were among the teams tracking the 21-year-old superstar, whose Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) peaked at €119 million last summer.
The box-to-box midfielder’s new five-and-a-half year deal is thought to be worth in the region of €120m over that timeframe.
“I’m really happy. Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world,” Musiala said.
“I took my first steps in professional football here and firmly believe we can achieve something big with this club in the coming years. I feel at home both in Munich and at the club with our great fans. We’ve got a lot of things we want to achieve. I’m excited for everything that’s to come.”

Europe’s best forced into transfer rethink
Musiala’s decision to sign a new deal with Bayern will force Europe’s biggest sides to reassess their transfer plans.
Both Man City and Real Madrid had earmarked him as a valuable addition to their midfield, with Los Blancos even eyeing him as a successor to Toni Kroos, whose retirement last summer has created a void that they have yet to adequately fill.
In a statement that will make these great sides turn green with envy, Bayern board member Max Eberl said: “Top clubs across the world look for players who can make the difference, and Jamal Musiala stands out there. He’s shaping the present at Bayern and will also shape the future, is the face of our new generation.
“In Jamal we’ve managed to convince one of the most coveted players in the world of our long-term plan at Bayern. Players like him allow us to send out a clear message to everyone that Bayern are to be reckoned with in the future as well.”
Musiala is expected to play a starring role as Bayern travel to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga on 15 February in a crucial clash for the title.
