Vinicius Jr welcomes Mbappe to Real Madrid
Real Madrid wonderkid Vinicius Jr has welcomed the likely arrival of Kylian Mbappe at the Santiago Bernabeu.
PSG superstar Mbappe is widely expected to join Real Madrid on a Bosman transfer at the end of the current season when his contract at the Parc des Princes expires.
This opens up the mouth-watering possibility of Mbappe and Vini Jr being part of the same attack next season, and this is something the Brazilian is excited about.
“Every player in the world wants to play with Mbappe,” Vinicius Jr told Esporte Interativo.
“He’s a great player, like Cristiano [Ronaldo] and [Lionel] Messi were. He represents the new generation, and he’s here to stay at the top for many years.”

Vini Jr is experiencing a breakthrough season at Real Madrid, having contributed a brilliant nine goals and three assists in all competitions already.
🎙 @vinijr: “I’m very happy with everything I’ve been doing since the start of the season and I have to continue like this. The whole team’s work is very important especially for me, as I’m more up front and run less. I have to help with scoring but also need to track back more.” pic.twitter.com/VTW7Yc4xos

He was once again impressive on Saturday, scoring both of Real Madrid’s goals in a 2-1 victory over Elche – a result that takes the Blancos to the top of La Liga.
Vini’s upturn in form comes after he scored just eight La Liga goals in his first three seasons at Madrid, having arrived in 2018 with big expectations for €46 million from Flamengo.
“The pressure was too great,” Vinicius said of his start at Madrid. “I’d never seen so much put on a player so young. I don’t know what it was – maybe it was because I cost a lot of money.
“The club and the coaches knew about my quality, however, and that with time I would gain experience and confidence. I was always calm, and I never cared what they said about me. It’s the same now, I don’t believe that I’m the best player in the world. I only listen to the people at the club and those around me.”
Vinicius Jr turned 21 this July and has won seven caps for Brazil.
