Ancelotti: I don’t want Italy job

Carlo Ancelotti says he is not interested in taking over the Italy national team or coaching any other international side.
Ancelotti has been one of the best managers in club football for two decades and has long been linked with the Azzurri.

He turned down the chance to succeed Gian Piero Ventura in 2017 following the debacle to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
Instead, Roberto Mancini was appointed and the former Inter and Man City boss subsequently led Italy to glory at Euro 2020.
Ancelotti has again been linked with succeeding Mancini, perhaps after the 2022 World Cup.
But the current Real Madrid manager says that he wants to continue working in club football.
What did Ancelotti say about Italy job?
“I don’t know, I don’t know,” Ancelotti’s responded when asked by former Parma striker Faustino Asprilla, who was working for ESPN Colombia.
“I like the day-to-day work of training with teams. I’d have to think about a national team role, but I don’t think so.”
Ancelotti is currently in his second spell as Real Madrid manager, having replaced Zinedine Zidane this summer.

The 62-year-old has made a decent start to the season as Madrid find themselves one point off the top of La Liga but with a game in hand over league leaders Real Sociedad.
Madrid won the Clasico and are also looking strong to qualify from their Champions League group.
Ancelotti began his coaching career as an assistant to Arrigo Sacchi on the Italy bench between 1992 and 1995 before becoming a head coach with Reggina.
He went on to coach Parma, Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Everton before coming back to Spain for a second time.
He is one of the most successful club coaches in history having claimed three Champions Leagues and league titles in four different countries.
