Mbappe: I am a great player
Kylian Mbappe insists that he is only focused on playing for PSG in the second half of the season, while confidently proclaiming that he is a “great player”.
Mbappe was involved in the biggest transfer saga of the summer as he attempted to push through a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
In the end the transfer didn’t go through but Mbappe is widely expected to still move to the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season on a Bosman.
Mbappe’s contract at PSG expires in June and he has repeatedly rejected offers of an extension.
There have been reports recently that Mbappe could even join Real Madrid in January but the player himself insists that he is only focused on PSG until the end of the season.
What did Mbappe say?
“In the second half of the year, I will concentrate on the pitch, on my football,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It’s what important, overall, in the second phase of the season, that is when you win trophies.
I am delighted to announce that I am now officially part of Maison Dior. Can’t wait to share our collaborations in men’s fashion and Sauvage fragrance#Dior #DiorSauvage #DiorFragrance @Dior pic.twitter.com/hQtGyqGtKl

“So, I think that it’s not the moment to speak about me. Everyone knows that I am a great player and, my work is to do what people say about me on the pitch, not off it.
“Then, of course, we will have to approach the situation because time will pass, but it’s not the priority at the moment.”
An interesting sub-plot to his likely move to Real Madrid is the fact that PSG will play his prospective employers in the Champions League in February.
Madrid drew PSG in the last-16 of Europe’s premier club competition in what is the tie of the round.
The Ligue 1 side will play the first leg in Paris before travelling to the Santiago Bernabeu for the second leg.
