Lewandowski has told his agent to take him to Real Madrid

Robert Lewandowski has reportedly instructed his agent to engineer a transfer to Real Madrid in the summer of 2022.
Earlier this week, the Bayern Munich striker finished second in the Ballon d'Or, with Lionel Messi finishing first to earn his seventh trophy.
Many fans and pundits believe Lewandowski should have won due to his exploits over the past year.
In the 2020/21 campaign he scored 48 goals and recorded nine assists in all competitions, while in the current season he has scored a miraculous 25 goals in just 20 games.

According to Spanish outlet AS, Lewandowski's failure to win the award has only convinced him more that he needs to move to Real Madrid, a club considered more favourable in the eyes of Ballon d'Or voters than Bayern Munich, even if the German side are a juggernaut in their own right.
The Poland international is out of contract in the summer of 2023 so if Bayern want to receive a significant transfer fee they will need to sell him a year before in 2022.
Lewandowski has asked agent Pini Zahavi to make sure Real Madrid are aware of his desire to play at Santiago Bernabeu.
Lewandowski and Haaland
Lewandowski's future will be intrinsically linked to that of fellow Bundesliga striker, Erling Haaland.
Both are goal machines and, as reported by AS, both could be sold by Bayern and Borussia Dortmund respectively in 2022.
Haaland is wanted by every major side in Europe including Bayern, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Los Blancos want both Haaland and Kylian Mbappe and with the latter available for free, it is a real possibility they could link up in the Spanish capital.
There is also the presence of Karim Benzema to think of at Madrid, which could impact any deals for Lewandowski or Haaland.
What has Lewandowski said about his future?
Late last season, Lewandowski suggested he would be open to a move away from Bayern in the future as he is keen to learn a new language and culture.
“I remain open-minded. I feel very good at Bayern, the city is superb, it’s a great club,” said the Poland international in an interview with Canal+.
“I am always curious to learn a new language, a new culture. But whether it will be in football or after my career, even I don’t know.”
