Five landing spots for Isco if he leaves Real Madrid in January
Isco has fallen even further out of favour at Real Madrid and could be allowed to leave in January. Carlo Ancelotti has said that he won’t stand in the way of any player who wants to depart and, with Isco having played just 177 minutes this season, the 29-year-old may look to move on in the winter window.
His contract at Real Madrid expires in the summer of 2022, so January is their last chance to try to cash in on the midfielder who joined from Málaga in 2013. Los Blancos may even let him leave for free or on loan, depending on the circumstances.
Several clubs around Europe would be willing to take a chance on Isco and we take a look at five of them here.
Isco to AC Milan?
The leading candidate to land Isco is AC Milan. According to El Nacional, the two clubs are already negotiating a potential January move, with the clubs maintaining a good relationship after recent deals for Barhim Díaz and Theo Hernández. Isco reportedly spoke to Brahim in the summer about life at the San Siro and now he could finally make the move to Serie A.
Isco to Juventus?
AC Milan aren’t the only Italian side interested in Isco. Juventus have been linked with the Spaniard before and they are mentioned as a potential landing spot once again, with the Old Lady in need of some kind of creative spark to turn their season around. Massimiliano Allegri previously said Real Madrid were “more disorganised” when Isco plays, but changed his tune in the summer when it was reported that he asked directors in Turin to bring in the Spaniard. Now, in January, they might finally do just that.
Isco to Fenerbahçe?
Fenerbahçe may lose Mesut Özil and, if they do, Isco has been identified as a possible replacement. According to Eurosport, the Turkish side are confident that they could bring in Isco from Real Madrid for free, so long as they promise to pay his full wages. If Özil does depart, they would have that money to spend.
Isco to Atlético Madrid?
It might seem unlikely, but El Chiringuito journalist and OK Diario editor Eduardo Inda has claimed that Isco could be moved on to Atlético Madrid. He would like to keep living in Spain’s capital and Atleti have done business with Real Madrid in the past, taking Marcos Llorente for example and converting him into a top attacking player. If the only way to move the midfielder on is to send him to their city rivals, Los Blancos may at least consider it.

Isco to Everton?
There isn’t as much Premier League interest in Isco now as there was a few years ago, but he does still have some admirers in England. One of them is Everton, where his former coach Rafael Benítez would reportedly welcome a reunion. Everton could use a player with the ability to play the final pass, even if only on an initial six-month deal.
