Real Madrid make Bosman contract offer to Rudiger
Real Madrid have reportedly offered Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger a pre-contract, with his current deal at Stamford Bridge expiring this summer.
The Germany international joined Chelsea from Roma in 2017, and signed a five-year deal to join the club. He's yet to sign a contract extension at Stamford Bridge, and hence will become a free agent at the end of June unless he decides to extend his stay in West London.
Multiple reports have revealed that Chelsea are desperate to keep hold of their star defender, and have offered him a new deal in an attempt to keep him at the club. However, the Blues are reportedly unwilling to increase his wage to the level Rudiger wants, and negotiations have therefore stopped.
It's understood that Chelsea offered Rudiger a deal worth half of what their top earners are on, but the player feels he deserves more given his importance to the team. Sky Sports have now reported that Real Madrid are among a host of top European clubs to begin talks with Rudiger's representatives.
With Rudiger's deal at Chelsea expiring on 30 June, he is free to begin discussions with club's on the continent over a move in the summer. He's able to sign a pre-contract that will confirm his next destination.
According to Sky Sports, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Juventus have all opened discussions with the player's representatives over a pre-contract arrangement.
Real Madrid are reportedly the favourites to land the German defender, with sources suggesting that the Santiago Bernabeu is Rudiger's preferred destination.
Los Blancos currently sit top of La Liga, five points clear of Sevilla in second. Rudiger would add to their current crop of central defenders, which includes Eder Militao, David Alaba, Nacho Fernandez, and Jesus Vallejo.
Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland are also reportedly on Real Madrid's summer wish-list, so it could be a big summer in regards to incomings in the Spanish capital.
