Haaland drops HUGE hint about future club
Erling Haaland has potentially dropped a huge hint about where he will be playing his football next season.
The Norwegian is one of the hottest properties in the transfer market after bursting onto the scene with RB Salzburg and then Dortmund, emerging as one of the most devastating forwards in European football.
Over the past year, the player has been linked to basically very major European club, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd.
With German football on a winter break, Haaland is currently on holiday in Marbella.
According to AS, Haaland was approached by a group of fans in Marbella and when asked by the supporters where he will be playing football next season, he reportedly responded:
"I will play here, in Spain".
Now, this report naturally has to be taken with a pinch of salt, but Haaland could indeed be telling the truth which brings up one question.
Will Haaland join Barcelona or Real Madrid?
Barcelona are currently in a terrible state financially, even with the recent acquisition of Ferran Torres, so it seems unlikely they will be involved in a bidding war with Real Madrid or Premier League sides for Haaland.
Madrid, then, seems the most likely destination.
Real Madrid's number one target remains Kylian Mbappe, but as FootballTransfers previously detailed, chairman Florentino Perez is eager to partner the Frenchman with Haaland as part of a new Galactico line-up.
Los Blancos are in the process of upgrading their famous Santiago Bernabeu stadium, with the completion of the new state-of-the-art structure set for the beginning of 2023.
And Perez aims to have the world's top footballing stars playing for Madrid to mark the opening of the club's new home.
The hope of getting the two young superstars in the same white jersey of Madrid is described as Perez's 'Jewels in the Crown.'
Dortmund are reluctant to sell their prized asset, but it is widely thought he will move on sooner rather than later in the hope of competing for league titles and the Champions League.
Dortmund exited the Champions League at the group stage this season and now must settle for Europa League football.
