PSG fans react to craziest Barca transfer rumour of January
Barcelona are often the subject of some far fetched transfer rumours, yet there was a particularly outlandish claim over the weekend that they are considering offering Paris Saint-Germain a swap deal that would see Marc-Andre ter Stegen head for France and Gianluigi Donnarumma head in the other direction.
It’s true that Barcelona have been on the lookout for a new goalkeeping option for much of the season, with the Germany star failing to inspire confidence.
Equally, Donnarumma’s time at Parc des Princes has been complicated because of Keylor Navas’ presence, causing a squad rotation policy to be put in place that suits neither custodian.
Given the state of Barcelona’s finances, if they were to make a move, if would require some creative work, such as a swap deal.
The idea, though, that PSG would potentially be willing to trade Donnarumma – one of the best goalkeepers in the world – for an out-of-form Ter Stegen who would only sit on their bench, is quite frankly preposterous.
Yet Sport claims that Barcelona are considering such a deal.
Ter Stegen for Donnarumma swap deal laughed off
It is a report that has been ridiculed in France, with PSG supporters quick to laugh off the suggestion that their club could be about to lose the Italy international custodian – or at least receive a pitiful bid for a player who only arrived in the summer.

“Why not trade Clement Lenglet for Marquinhos who you’re at it,” one fan on Twitter joked.
Another suggested: “Go and harass Ousmane Dembele and his agent – it’ll do you more good.”
“Even on career mode in FIFA, this deal is impossible,” another chimed in.

Meanwhile, another suggested that the Donnarumma that Barcelona should be considering a swap deal for is Antonio, Gianluigi’s brother, who plays for Serie C club Padova, having been a reserve at Milan.
The most popular response to the rumour, though, was simply a picture of Kylian Mbappe sitting on the PSG bench laughing.
Needless to say, there is no chance of PSG trading Donnarumma for Ter Stegen, even if Barcelona were to launch their audacious bid.
