Erling Haaland could cause havoc in the summer transfer window because of the timing of his decision whether to leave or stay at Borussia Dortmund.
The Norway international’s call is bound to have a profound impact on the transfer market, given his value to numerous European giants aiming to strengthen their attacking options this season.
Equally, though, it could also impact on the future of Kylian Mbappe, whose contract with Paris Saint-Germain is up in the summer.
The latest reports from Spain are that Barcelona are ready to go “all in” for Haaland in the summer and are doing their utmost to persuade the player and agent Mino Raiola that a move to Camp Nou is the right one for him.

Haaland to make early call on future
Sport reports that Haaland will make a call over his future at the end of March, which will have a knock-on effect to Mbappe, who has promised that he will only make up his mind at the end of the season, despite widespread suggestions that he will head to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
If Haaland makes an early call, it will force the hands of those clubs who are interested in signing him to make an early move.
The likes of PSG, who see Haaland as a ‘Plan B’ option to Mbappe, or Madrid, who may need to juggle their budget to attract both superstars, will have to carefully consider how to play their hand. Do they make an early move for Haaland at the risk of losing out on Mbappe or should they be patient and potentially miss out on both?
Barcelona hold the upper hand in this game of poker as they have their eyes upon one fixed objective: Haaland. Where the Catalans are at a disadvantage, though, is that they remain financially weak in comparative terms.
There remains a long way to run in this transfer saga, but it is inevitable that the futures of Haaland and Mbappe are intertwined to some degree.
