‘Mbappe has signed for Real Madrid’

Former Barcelona president Joan Gaspart has claimed that Kylian Mbappe has already signed a contract to join Real Madrid this summer.

It was widely reported on Deadline Day that Mbappe had reached an agreement on a six-year contract with Madrid that will see the PSG superstar earn a mouth-watering €50 million-a-year in the Spanish capital.

And Gaspart, who was president of Barcelona from 2000 to 2003, says that he has knowledge that Mbappe has already signed for Madrid.

"I'll give you the exclusive: Kylian Mbappé has already signed his contract with Real Madrid,” Gaspart said.

“I'm certain of it. I know [Real Madrid president] Florentino Perez and I'm certain of it."

Mbappe was involved in the biggest transfer saga of last summer as he attempted to push through a move to Madrid.

In the end the transfer didn’t go through but Mbappe was always expected to still move to Madrid at the end of the season on a Bosman when his PSG contract runs out.

He has repeatedly rejected all of PSG’s offers for him to renew.

The consensus now is that Mbappe’s contract will be announced after Real Madrid play PSG will play in the Champions League this month.
