Barcelona told to make 'great efforts' to sign Haaland by club legend

Barcelona legend Hristo Stoichkov has urged the Catalan side to do all they can to sign Erling Haaland this summer.
The Norwegian striker is one of the hottest properties in world football currently, and is widely expected to leaving Dortmund in the next transfer window.
Over the past 12 months, various elite clubs have been linked with Haaland including Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain as well as Barcelona.

Even though Barcelona have well-documented financial troubles, FootballTransfers reported this week that they were planning an outlay of €310 million to purchase Haaland, with that amount spend on a fee plus wages and agent fees.
Barca have emerged as one of the favourites to sign him, and Stoichkov hopes they pull the trigger on a deal.
"I would sign him," the Bulgarian told Cadena Ser.
"Barça needs a hit.
"Hopefully the club will make a great effort for him to arrive and make history with Barca. He has a lot of quality, to score goals and also to assist."
Dembele doesn't want Barcelona
One of Barcelona's most expensive transfers of all time remains Ousmane Dembele, who joined from Dortmund for €105 million.
Unfortunately for the Blaugrana, they risk losing the Frenchman for free as his contract expires in June.
Negotiations have been ongoing over the past six months or so, but eventually broke down, allegedly due to the player's wage demands.
The demands came at a time when Barca were desperately attempting to lower their salary bill.
Stoichkov believes that Dembele simply doesn't want to play for Barcelona.
"Dembele has many qualities, in any game he can present himself three or four times just in front of the goalkeeper, but if a player doesn't want to renew it's because he doesn't want Barca," the Bulgarian explained.
