I don't see Mbappe at Real Madrid, Marcelo admits
Real Madrid veteran Marcelo admits that he doesn't know if Kylian Mbappe will sign for the club this summer as he can't predict the future.
Mbappe is widely expected to join Real Madrid this summer when his Paris Saint-Germain contract expires.
The superstar forward remains the second most expensive footballer of all time, having joined PSG from Monaco for an eventual fee of €145 million.
The French giants are currently running a likely risk of the World Cup winner leaving for free, though, as his contract expires in June of this year.
Real Madrid seems the most likely destination for Mbappe, as Los Blancos tried and failed with a massive €200m bid that was rejected in the summer transfer window.
Marcelo doesn't seem sure, though, as he told El Hormiguero:
"I don't see him at Madrid because I don't know the future."
PSG offer Mbappe huge new deal
PSG are desperate to keep Mbappe at the club next season and a new report in France has finally revealed just how much that could cost the Ligue 1 side.
According to a new report from Le Parisien, the French giants are prepared to make Mbappe the highest earner in world football with an annual salary of €50 million.
For context, the highest paid player in the Premier League is Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently makes around half that amount at Manchester United.
However, that isn’t all PSG have promised the striker. As well as his extraordinary salary, the French club will also offer Mbappe a new sign-on fee of €100 million just to sign the extension.
Furthemore, the club have looked to entice Mbappe to stay even more by making the contract last just a further two years, to ensure the young player that he won’t feel trapped by signing a long-term deal.
