The players Real Madrid will sell to sign Mbappe, Haaland and Tchouameni this summer
Real Marid have a busy summer transfer window planned out but before they start cherry-picking the best players from around Europe, they will be forced to sell some unneeded stars to fund the arrival of these new faces.
According to Marca, Los Blancos are pushing ahead with plans to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland and Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
As such, the club will not only need to clear spots in Carlo Ancelotti’s team for these new arrivals, but they’ll also need to raise cash in the market to fund the new signings. So, according to the Spanish publication, Madrid have also drawn up a shortlist of players that will be on the move this summer.
The players Madrid plan to sell this summer
Eden Hazard
Undoubtedly the most obvious and necessary departure this summer will come in the form of Eden Hazard. The Belgium international’s time in Madrid has been nothing short of a disaster, but with a contract at the club until 2024 there’s no doubt that Los Blancos will be hoping to sell him back to the Premier League as quickly as possible. The 31-year-old forward is currently valued at €18 million.
Luka Jovic
Another forward that hasn’t lived up to the billing at Madrid is Luka Jovic, who will also be making way for Mbappe & Co. this summer despite also having a long term contract, which is still set to run until 2025. The Serbian forward is currently valued at €19m and is certainly still young enough to pick up some interest in the market.
Dani Ceballos
Another squad player that looks set to leave Madrid this summer is Dani Ceballos, who enjoyed a decent loan spell at Arsenal last season but has been largely overlooked at the Spanish club this time around. Ceballos has a contract until 2023 and has proven his worth in the Premier League, so it should be hard for Madrid to find a viable buyer for his value of around €15m.
Jesus Vallejo
Having spent the past couple of seasons on loan at Granada, there’s now no doubt that Jesus Vallejo will struggle to break into the Madrid first team and will likely be sold in this summer’s transfer window. His market value currently stands at around €7m.
Mariano Diaz
Despite joining the club from Lyon in 2018 for a sizable sum of money, Mariano Diaz has struggled to live up to the hype and been a largely unused sub by Ancelotti this season. He’s now valued at just €2m and will likely be sold to anyone willing to buy him this summer.
