Barcelona make history and THRASH Madrid in Women’s Clasico

For the second time in the space of a fortnight, Real Madrid were thrashed by Barcelona in a Clasico.
On Wednesday evening, Barcelona women thumped their Madrid rivals 5-2 in their Champions League quarter-final second leg to secure a humiliating 8-3 victory on aggregate.

What is the record attendance in women's football?
It was a night that made history as 91,553 fans attended the match at Camp Nou. This set a new all-time world record for a women’s football match. It beat the previous record set during the 2012 Olympics.

And it got worse for Real Madrid as Barcelona fans mocked Blancos president Florentino Perez.
The Barca fans sang loudly about the Madrid chief, repeatedly chanting “Donde esta Florentino, Florentino donde esta?” which translates as “Where is Florentino, Florentino where is he?”
This was partly in response to Perez deciding not to turn up for the game. The president has been criticised for not treating women’s football with respect after he ordered the first leg of this quarter-final to be played at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium rather than the Santiago Bernabeu.
This was the second time in a fortnight that Madrid have suffered a heavy Clasico loss.
The men were also heavily defeated, this time at the Bernabeu, in La Liga. Barcelona won 4-0 thanks to goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (2), Ronald Araujo and Ferran Torres.
It is a good period right now for Barcelona as Xavi’s men are now on a 12-game unbeaten run and look to be building something very special for the future.
They are also in the quarter-finals of the Europa League and favourites to win that competition.
