Bayern ‘not sleeping’ on possibility of Lewandowski Barcelona transfer - Podolski
Bayern Munich fans have nothing to fear going into the summer transfer market, according to Lukas Podolski, who says that the club is set up to cope with the possibility of losing Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski has been the most prolific scorer of goals in elite football in recent seasons, scoring at a rate of more than one-per-game in each of the last three campaigns.

Nevertheless, he is reportedly unsettled at Bayern and is open to proposals. Barcelona have been strongly linked with the Pole, leading to concerns that FCB cannot afford to replace him with a similarly elite forward. They have previously admitted, for example, that Erling Haaland is beyond their financial reach.
Bayern not asleep at the wheel - Podolski
Podolski, who played with Bayern between 2006-2009, has faith the club will have a strong succession plan in place should Lewandowski depart.
“When you have Robert Lewandowski, you don’t need Erling Haaland, so let’s see how the situation with Lewandowski continues. I think he’s got one year left on his contract,” he told FootballTransfers.
“If they sell him or if he moves, Bayern Munich are not stupid, and they are not sleeping. They will be working in the background. They will be prepared for the scenario of someone leaving and they’ll be in talks with other players.
“It depends on the situation in Bayern if Lewandowski leaves – or maybe he wants to wait until the end of the season to make his decision. Maybe he’s already signed a contract somewhere, I don’t know, but I think Bayern Munich will be prepared for that and when he leaves they will have another player to come in.”
Replacing Lewandowski, though, will be no easy task for the club, with the Pole have scored 342 goals in 372 appearances since moving from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2014.
