Robert Lewandowski has denied reports that he has agreed to join Barcelona this summer but has also failed to commit his future to Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski’s future at Bayern is very much in doubt as his contract at the club expires in 2023, with talks over a new deal not making any progress.

FootballTransfers first reported last month that Barcelona had made Lewandowski their top summer striker target after cooling their interest in Erling Haaland.

A number of other media outlets have since gone further and stated that Lewandowski has agreed a deal to join Barcelona.

But FootballTransfers also understands that Lewandowski has not yet signed a pre-contract agreement with the Camp Nou side or agreed to join them.

We understand, though, that Lewandowski’s entourage are in talks with Barcelona, and a summer transfer is certainly a possibility.

Lewandowski himself claims that the rumours are nothing to do with him.

What did Lewandowski say?

“I have also read what they are saying in the media. I can only say that it has nothing to do with me,” he is quoted by AS.

“There will be a meeting with Bayern, something will happen, but we don’t know what. We have to wait.

“[Do I want to stay?] We will see what happens, it depends on both parties.”

Kicker reports that Bayern are prepared to let Lewandowski go if they receive a €40 million transfer fee for a player who turns 34 this year.

On Saturday, Lewandowski scored in a 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund as Bayern Munich won their 10th Bundesliga in a row.
