Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe continues to build hype around his future thanks to his scintillating on-field performances.
Though closely linked to Real Madrid in recent months, Mbappe’s future has grown increasingly uncertain, with hints that the World Cup winner could now sign a new contract with PSG.
Last weekend, he spoke of “new elements” in his thinking. Although he was purposefully tight-lipped over his plans, this has been widely interpreted as suggesting he is ready to stay where he is.
Reports from Marca late last week suggested that talks between Mbappe’s entourage and Real Madrid have paused, with a big difference between the expectations of the player and what the club is willing to offer.

On the field, though, Mbappe’s form is simply electric presently and his incredible sequence continued on Saturday in a 6-1 win over Clermont.
Mbappe may have been the decisive figure as PSG swept Lorient aside 5-1 a week earlier, but on this occasion, he was given a helping hand by Neymar and Lionel Messi, with the Parisians’ superstar front three apparently clicking shortly after their Champions League elimination.

Meanwhile, Mbappe grabbed a hat-trick against the Ligue 1 strugglers but also created another and won a penalty that led to Neymar converting from the spot.
Over his last five games for club and country, Mbappe has an astonishing 12 goal contributions, finding the net seven times himself and laying on five more. The opposition may have been modest, but this is a stellar run of form by any player’s standards.
Incredibly, he is not just Ligue 1’s top scorer, he is also the top assist maker, too.
Of course, this has coincided with key talks over his future looming with both Madrid and PSG. This show of on-field strength can only serve to drive the demands of Mbappe upwards – and it will make the clubs ever more eager to bow to his whims. His value, though, is increasingly undoubted.
