How many Aubameyang goals has Dembele assisted?
Ousmane Dembele and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s bromance continues to flourish on the pitch for Barcelona.
On Tuesday evening, Barcelona beat Celta Vigo 3-1 with Dembele providing two assists – one of them for Aubameyang, who scored twice himself.
Aubameyang signed for Barca from Arsenal during the January transfer window and has been an absolute revelation in Catalunya.
He has scored 13 goals in 21 games to help turn around Barca’s season.
One of the main reasons for his prolific form has been his partnership with Dembele.
The pair have a very close relationship and friendship dating back to their time as teammates for Borussia Dortmund in 2016-17.
Not only off the pitch, where they often hang out together, the duo also have something of a telepathic link-up on the pitch as well.
Since Aubameyang’s arrival, Dembele has assisted seven of the ex-Arsenal star’s 13 goals.
In total, Dembele has 13 assists this season – not a bad return considering he barely played until February because of recurring injuries and then when he was frozen out of the squad.
Sport claims that in terms of goals to games, Dembele is the best partner of Aubameyang’s career.
What did Aubameyang say about Dembele?
"Dembélé is my little brother. From the first day I met him in Dortmund we have connected very well on and off the pitch,” said Aubameyang after the win versus Celta.
Aubameyang has said publicly on a number of occasions that he hopes that Dembele stays at the club.
The Frenchman’s contract expires at Barcelona at the end of the season and, although renewal talks have resumed, little progress has been made.
There is a gap between the salary that Dembele is demanding and what Barcelona are offering.
Barca boss Xavi and president Joan Laporta both want Dembele to stay but the club is not willing to increase its offer currently.
