Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has completed his €100 million transfer to Real Madrid.

Tchouameni, 22, enjoyed a fruitful two-and-a-half year spell at Monaco after arriving from Bordeaux, and his form caught the eye of Europe's top clubs.

Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Chelsea previously held a interest in the France international, but Tchouameni instead agreed to join Madrid in a deal that is one of the biggest in football history.

The Frenchman has signed a six-year contract at Santiago Bernabeu, with Los Blancos adding another young France midfielder to their ranks after signing Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes in 2021.

After a difficult start to life at the club, Thibaut Courtois has since shown why he is one of the best goalkeepers in world football and will keep his place in the starting XI.

Dani Carvajal is the first-choice right-back, but his injury struggles mean Lucas Vasquez will likely play more than Ancelotti would prefer. At left-back, Ferland Mendy will keep his place, despite some noises that suggest he could be on his way out of the club this summer.

David Alaba should pair Antonio Rudiger in the centre of defence, with the German signing as a free agent - although Eder Militao is another option.

Casemiro remains key to Los Blancos' midfield, with the experienced Luka Modric also expected to make Ancelotti's go-to line up. Tchouameni could replace Toni Kroos but might also rotate in for the Brazilian at times.

That said, Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga will receive plenty of minutes over the course of the next season.

Ballon d'Or favourite Karim Benzema has been so impressive for Los Blancos since Cristiano Ronaldo left and is improving with age.

Vinicius Jr has nailed down his place on the left wing, with Marcos Asensio, Rodrygo and Eden Hazard set to fight it out for the other place in the front three if Valverde isn't used in that advanced role.
