Isco announces Real Madrid exit

Isco has announced that he is set to depart Real Madrid, putting an end to a nine-year stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Spaniard joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 as a promising youngster from Malaga for a €30 million, becoming Carlo Ancelotti’s first signing in his first stint at the club.
He will leave with an illustrious CV, having won three league titles, and five Champions League honours, although he didn’t receive a medal for the 2022 campaign, having not played a minute.

His other honours included one Copa del Rey, four FIFA Club World Cups, three UEFA Super Cups and three Spanish Super Cups, in a fine career for Los Blancos.
Isco even started the two of the Champions League finals, in 2017 and 2018, against Juventus and Liverpool respectively, as he proved to be a crucial figure under previous manager Zinedine Zidane.
Isco grateful for Real Madrid support
In an Instagram post, Isco was thankful for the support he received at the club: “My time at the club has made it possible for me to fulfil all the dreams I had when I was a kid.
“Apart from fulfilling dreams, winning more titles than I had ever imagined, playing with the greatest players, meeting incredible people: I have had the best time ever and I am damned”
“I want to thank my team mates, coaches, technical staff, physios, kit men, Valdebebas and Santiago Bernabeu workers for all the work, love and support that everyone needs and that I have never lacked.”

Recent times had seen Isco’s importance in the team reduce, and he only made 17 appearances in his final season at the club, as Real Madrid were able to reap the rewards of the improved Vinicius Jr.
It was after Zidane’s first departure in 2018 that Isco was replaced more often, but he can still leave the club with a fine legacy left behind, having made 353 appearances and scored 53 goals over the course of his stay.
