The Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid transfer saga will soon be at an end, with the PSG striker poised to announce his decision in the coming hours.
Mbappe’s future has been to the front and centre of football transfer news for the last year. His contract will expire on 30 June, at which time he will become a free agent, with PSG and Real Madrid having spent much of the last 12 months fighting for his signature.
Los Blancos were so desperate to sign him last summer, they even launched a €200 million bid for the player, but that was simply ignored by the Ligue 1 champions.

This timeline, meanwhile, corresponds to what the player has consistently stressed all season: that a decision will only be announced at the conclusion of the campaign.
It is as yet unclear how Mbappe will make his announcement – or even at what time on Sunday.
Will Mbappe sign for Real Madrid or stay at PSG?
The footballer admitted last weekend, when he won the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award for a third time, that he is close to making a call. “It’s almost over, my choice is almost made,” he said.
As of Thursday, talks were continuing with PSG, although it is stated that there was no “excessive optimism” from the Parisians that they would be able to get Mbappe to commit to them.
His final game for the club could be on Saturday, when the Parisians play host to Metz in the last Ligue 1 match of the season.
Mbappe is chasing a personal milestone in that game as he aims to finish the top-flight campaign as both the leading scorer and leading assist maker in France.
He has played 216 times for PSG and has scored 168 goals, while he has laid on 87 more.
