Kylian Mbappe has refused to rule out the possibility of signing for Real Madrid in three years, when his latest PSG contract will expire.

Mbappe controversially rejected the Spanish champions when it appeared that he was poised to move there as a free agent this summer.

He had previously indicated it was his dream to play at the Bernabeu, and there is a strong feeling of betrayal among the Real Madrid socios towards the World Cup winner.

Nevertheless, Mbappe has left the door open for a deal to be done in the future.

“I don't know what will happen in the future and where I will be in three years,” he said when directly asked about the possibility of moving to the Champions League finalists when his new contract expires.

“I’ve lot of respect for Florentino Perez and Real Madrid. That’s why I wanted to call him personally, to be a respectful man.”

Will Real Madrid want Mbappe?

Mbappe may be willing to move to Spain in the future, but whether the club’s fans will be so quick to forget his actions this summer remains a different story. He has, after all, spent much of the last two years flirting with the Bernabeu side and there is a sense that he played them before committing his future to PSG.

However, he will still only be 25 by that point and, presumably, will be coming into the prime of his career. Even if he remains the calibre of player he is a present and is still putting up the type of dizzying scoring and assisting numbers that he has attained at PSG this season, it would take a club in a very strong position to turn him down.

Mbappe’s Real Madrid dream may have been hurt by his decision to remain in Paris – but don’t rule it out entirely yet.
