Messi’s father: I want Leo to return to Barcelona
Lionel Messi’s father says that he hopes that his son will return to play for Barcelona.
Messi’s father and agent, Jorge, recent flew into Catalunya where he was asked by a roving reporter about his son.
Jorge replied that Leo was – contrary to reports – happy at PSG but added that he wanted the Blaugrana legend to return to Camp Nou.
“I hope Leo can return to Barcelona, one day,” Jorge Messi said.

Messi completed a shock Free Transfer to PSG last summer after he was unable to sign a new contract with Barcelona.
The Argentine legend broke virtually every record during over 20 years at Camp Nou, scoring an incredible 672 goals in 778 games.

However, Messi has been slammed by fans and the media following a disappointing first season at the Parc des Princes.
He has scored just six Ligue 1 goals this season and performed poorly as PSG were dumped out of the Champions League – capitulating from 2-0 up on aggregate to lose 3-2 to Real Madrid in the last-16.
He was subsequently booed by home fans in their next match.
This led to multiple reports that Messi was hoping to return to Barcelona after just one season at PSG, although that seems unlikely for financial reasons.
Messi’s form in 2022 has been slightly better and he now has 13 assists this season, but his goal-tally is such that it is hard to argue that he has failed to live up to expectations.
He did, however, score twice on Saturday in a 4-0 win at Montpellier.
