Neymar transfer news: Will Mbappe deal drive Brazilian out of PSG?

Kylian Mbappe's new PSG deal could have a direct impact on the future of Neymar at the club.
The Brazilian is contracted to PSG for another three years - the same amount of time that Mbappe has just agreed to - but his salary is one of the highest in the world.
And given the incredible contract that Mbappe has just signed, it may be the case that even PSG, with the salaries they are willing to spend, believe that having these two - AND Lionel Messi - is an unsustainable situation.
Messi will almost certainly stay for another season, as his focus is on being as fit and ready as possible for the World Cup in Qatar, as he looks to seal glory for Argentina. He won't want to be moving and no-one will be able to pick up his salary, either.
So it means that PSG are carrying a gigantic salary cost.

PSG were paying €503m on wages in their last accounts for the 20/21 season - and that was BEFORE the arrival of Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Georginio Wijnaldum and Gianluigi Donnarumma. So we can expect that number to be quite significantly higher.
Therefore it may be Neymar who can be removed from the equation.
Who could sign Neymar?
Neymar's huge contract demands - his deal is thought to be in excess of €600k per week - would have to be drastically reduced in order to attract interest from other clubs, and this will be PSG's number one problem.
When the market for a player's services is pushed up, it becomes equally difficult to get rid of them when they are no longer wanted and that will be the issue here. Neymar might be happy to see out his contract and collect his money - and be able to spend even more time than ever back in Brazil.
But if the demands were reduced both Barcelona and Real Madrid could make a deal happen. Madrid, stung by Mbappe's rejection, would be in a better economic situation to get a deal done, but Barcelona have long wished to bring Neymar back to the club and it wouldn't be outwith the realms of possibility.

Yet PSG will still want a sizeable fee for a player who is still only 30 and could have a few good years ahead of him yet. But the factors involved will mean a Neymar transfer will be, logistically, extremely difficult to make happen, from all parties.
