Official: Aurelien Tchouameni signs for Real Madrid for €100m
Real Madrid have completed the signing of Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco in a deal estimated to be worth more than €100 million.
The French midfielder had attracted interest from Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain ― who failed in a late attempt to hijack the deal ― but always had his heart set on a move to Spain.
Monaco are set to receive €80m for Tchouameni with more than €20m in bonuses, and the 22-year-old has penned a six-year deal with Madrid.
All the details behind Real's big-money deal
Madrid had ruled out a move for another forward after missing out on Kylian Mbappe and instead opted to pursue their number one midfield target in Tchouameni.
The deal was thought to have stalled after Real initially failed to agree a fee with Monaco but the Spanish side upped their offer following their Champions League success and fought off late competition from PSG.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is also understood to have called Tchouameni personally in an attempt to persuade him to move to Anfield, but the player's heart was set on Madrid.
Tchouameni made 95 apperances in all competitions for Monaco, scoring eight times, after signing from Bordeaux in January 2020 for €20m.
He has also been capped 10 times by the France national team, scoring once, and is expected to play a big role in the upcoming World Cup alongside fellow Madrid stars Eduardo Camavinga and Karim Benzema.
Tchouameni is regarded as one of the most promising midfielders in world football and he will go down as the second biggest sale in Monaco history after Kylian Mbappe.
Monaco, meanwhile, are rumoured to be looking at Brighton's Yves Bissouma and Lille's Amadou Onana as potential replacements for Tchouameni.
