Real Madrid to beat PSG and Liverpool to Tchouameni transfer
Real Madrid are leading the race to sign Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco, despite interest from Liverpool and PSG making the France midfielder their “absolute priority” in the summer transfer window.
Indeed, it is reported by L’Equipe that the deal is not expected to be become a soap opera and could even be concluded before Tchouameni joins up with the France team on international action in around a week’s time.
RMC states, meanwhile, that the Frenchman will sign a five-year deal with Real Madrid, who will pay Monaco €80 million for the 22-year-old footballer.
Real Madrid respond to Mbappe rejection
The transfer will be doubly sweet for Los Blancos knowing that he had been a leading target for PSG to sign this summer. Indeed, Le Parisien states that Tchouameni has been made their top priority.
Real Madrid and the Ligue 1 champions have been in something of a transfer war for months over the signature of Kylian Mbappe. It was the French club that surprisingly came out on top of that battle, so it would be something of a measure of revenge for the Spaniards if they were able to hit back in this case.
And it appears that they will be able to sign Tchouameni as their gradual evolution of the midfield continues.
Last summer, they moved to rejuvenate their aging midfield three of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro by signing Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes. Although he was not typically a starter, he has played a key role in many games and has been particularly outstanding in changing the course of crucial Champions League fixtures.
Tchouameni, who is strong box-to-box player, could be bedded in at the Bernabeu in a similar manner.
Los Blancos have already agreed personal terms with the player, who has already reportedly reached an agreement with Liverpool, but this was not possible with PSG.
Tchouameni, therefore, seems destined for Real Madrid.
