Tchouameni, 22, has enjoyed a fruitful two-and-a-half year spell at Monaco since arriving from Bordeaux, and his form has caught the eye of Europe's top clubs.

Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have both previously held a vested interest in the France international, but recent reports from RMC Sport detailed the player had agreed terms with both Real Madrid and Liverpool over a move this summer.

The two clubs will face each other in this season's Champions League final and have been locked together in a bid to sign one of Europe's most exciting young midfielders.

However, RMC Sport have now reported that Tchouameni is set to join Real Madrid this summer in a €80 million deal plus bonuses. The Frenchman will reportedly sign a five-year contract at Santiago Bernabeu, with Los Blancos adding another young France midfielder to their ranks after signing Eduardo Camavinga in 2021.

Julien Maynard has also reported that the Monaco midfielder has announced his departure from the club to join Real Madrid to his current team-mates.

Real Madrid are busy in the market

After neglecting a move for Erling Haaland due to their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid have pulled out the stocks to sign Tchouameni as they look to push on from a difficult start to their transfer window plans.

Mbappe has signed a fresh contract at Paris Saint-Germain, despite Real Madrid's belief he would join them this summer, while Haaland has joined Manchester City.

Fabrizio Romano has reported Antonio Rudiger will be officially announced as a Real Madrid player following the Champions League final, and Tchouameni will reportedly join him in donning the famous Los Blancos shirt.

Tchouameni has played nearly 100 games for Monaco, and helped them finish third in Ligue 1 this season, narrowly missing out on an automatic Champions League group stage place after conceding in the 96th minute to Lens on the final day of the season.
