'I s**t on your prostitute mother' - Pique's last words as a Barcelona player
Gerard Pique may have played his last match as a Barcelona player against Almeria on Saturday, but he made history on Tuesday as he was sent off against Osasuna from the bench.
Pique will now bow out of professional football, having elected to retire, but he did so in blazing fashion.
On the field, Barcelona defied the odds to come from a goal behind and a man down – Robert Lewandowski was sent off in the first half – to beat Osasuna 2-1, but the real story was made after the game as Pique was dismissed.

Referee Gil Manzano explained in his report why Pique was sent off.
In an extract published by AS, the match official states: “Once the first half was over, already in the locker room tunnel, he was sent off for addressing me in the following terms: ‘You are the referee who has screwed us the most by far.’
“Once the club delegate was informed of the red card for this player, he continued to repeat the same expressions. Having to be taken to his locker room by staff from his club, he addressed me in the following terms: ‘It’s a f*cking shame. I sh*t on your prostitute mother!’”

Pique makes Barcelona red card history
Pique had led Barcelona’s protests against the referee once he had blown the half-time whistle. The official did not want to listen to the veteran centre-back and marched towards the tunnel, with the angry defender following him.
The defender set an unwanted mark in his final match as a Barcelona player as he tied Hristo Stoichkov for the greatest number of red cards in club history with 11.
Pique’s outburst was perhaps due to a frustrating final few months at Barcelona, which have seen him increasingly peripheral in the squad as he has suffered problems in his personal life. Meanwhile, his relationship with head coach Xavi is said to have deteriorated.
